Dental Emergency

We will prioritize your Dental Emergencies. If you believe you are having a dental emergency or need an urgent office visit please call us at (802)885-2205.

Dental Emergencies May Include:

  • Broken or Cracked Tooth
  • Abscessed Tooth or Swelling
  • Loose Tooth
  • Excessive Pain in Tooth or Gums
  • Lost Fillings or Crowns

Fillings

Composite Resin or Tooth Colored Resins are a natural looking way to restore cavities. This material can be used in the front for more esthetic concerns or in the back of the mouth. These restorations are appropriate when the tooth can support a small to medium sized restoration. Other types of dental material or crowns may be recommended, if a tooth requires a root canal, extensive protection against biting forces or other conditions.

Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns or “Caps” are used to protect a tooth. There are several reasons a tooth may need protection. A tooth may have undergone multiple failed fillings and the tooth can no longer support another filling without fracturing. Some patients may crack their teeth due to grinding and clenching. Other patients may require a root canal and after which a crown is recommended to preserve the integrity of the tooth and seal it from future recurrent infection. There may also be cosmetic reasons to consider crowns for front teeth. Dr. Wolfe will discuss all of your options, risks and benefits with you before determining if a particular tooth can benefit from a full coverage crown.

Dental Hygiene

Dental Hygiene is the foundation to your oral health. Studies have shown, certain bacteria in your mouth can effect your overall systemic health. Regular hygiene visits in combination with good home care can help to reduce harmful inflammation in the body. This is important for many diseases including but not limited to diabetes, heart disease and neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease. Routine hygiene visits are also critical for early diagnosis of any dental conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed. It is our goal to keep our patients healthy and prevent dental disease.

Tooth Whitening

There are many products available to patients both online and in stores, however, only your dentist is qualified to assess if the patient is a candidate for teeth whitening.

We have a variety of prescription whitening products available for easy at home use. If this is something you are interested in, please let us know at your next visit.

Implant Restorations

An implant is one way to replace a missing tooth. Not every patient is a candidate for an implant and some patients may receive multiple implants.

An implant consists of 3 parts; the implant itself, an abutment, and the implant crown. The implant is placed surgically into the bone and replaces the root of tooth. The abutment is a connector that will screw into the implant and attach to the crown. The implant crown is the final piece that replaces your natural tooth.

The process of an implant begins with removal of a non-restorative tooth or assessment of an area where teeth are already missing. If a tooth requires extraction, or there is not adequate bone, often, a socket preservation or bone graft is recommended. This is a multi-step process and Dr. Wolfe will discuss each phase of treatment with you in detail.

Surgical Extractions

Unfortunately, not every tooth can be preserved with restorations and root canals. If your tooth requires extraction, we can gently remove your tooth using local anesthetics. Following a surgical extraction, we will discuss options for replacing the missing tooth or teeth. This may include implants, dental bridges, or removable options such as full dentures or partial dentures. Every patient is unique in their needs and Dr. Wolfe is happy to discuss all of your choices in depth.
